Fresh Ink for Teens & StandWithUs Writing Contest

Prompt

Describe a time when you were put in a situation where you had to defend Israel. Share your feelings, thoughts and actions in response to this experience.

How To Enter

To submit an entry, please fill out the form below and upload your essay no later than November 24, 2019 at 12am EST . All entries must be submitted as a Word Document and include the name of the high school and class year of the entrant.

Contest Rules

Essays will be judged on originality, creativity and writing style. There is a limit of one entry per student. Staff, board members and families of The Jewish Week Media Group are not eligible.

Prizes

First Place: $300, plus the winning entrant will have his/her essay published in The New York Jewish Week and online. 

Second Place: $200, plus the second place essay will be published on the websites of The New York Jewish Week and Fresh Ink for Teens. 

Third Place: $100, plus the third place essay will be published on the websites of The New York Jewish Week and Fresh Ink for Teens. 

 Before you submit your entry please review the following:

  • All Essays should be submitted as a Microsoft Word Document and be saved in the following format: Last Name_Topic
  • Essays should not exceed 500 words
  • All essays are property of Fresh Ink for Teens and StandWithUs after submitted
